Who Can Contribute

Anyone with an idea they want to explain well. You don't need to be an expert—sometimes the best explanations come from people who recently learned something and remember what made it click.

What We're Looking For

Articles that take advantage of the web as a medium. That might mean animated diagrams, interactive demos, or just well-designed figures that wouldn't reproduce well in print. We cover neuroscience, machine learning, cognitive science, physics, math, and related fields.

We're especially interested in pieces that explain foundational ideas, make connections across fields, or walk through techniques that others might find useful.

The Process

  1. Reach out with your idea—a paragraph or two is fine
  2. We'll chat about scope and whether it's a good fit
  3. Write your draft using the MI template
  4. We'll give feedback and help polish it
  5. Publish
